Why do we Home School?



The Rolle Academy, as I am fond of calling it, like other home schools, is a self contained entity. We live in Gaithersburg, (Montgomery County) Maryland. Gaithersburg is a suburb of Washington, DC. It resides in Montgomery County. Montgomery County touts a reputation of having one of the very best school systems in the United States. At one time, I believe that may have been true. However, in my opinion, I do not think that it is true any longer. It now appears to be a glorified babysitting service. My children have been Home Schooled now for three and 1/2 years. Since we have begun to Home School, our children have excelled far beyond what they would normally have accomplished by now; if they attended Public School. They are happier and have much better attitudes and we can control what they are taught and how it is taught.

Our schooling is Biblically based. We try to base all lessons and subjects around the Bible. Several of the curriula that are available already have this structure.

I will eneavor to use this page to provide homeschoolers and prospective homeschoolers with valuable information and resources, t the best of my ability.

Membership to this Association is definitely to the advantage of the homeschooler. Especially when you see the cases which they are already involved, and getting involved with. As a homeschooler, you will be under attack because you are going against the way the government's way of doing things. But the Lord will guide you. He can use the HSLDA to protect you.
